Abstract

It is very well known that traffic dynamics are inherently time delayed because of the limited sensing and acting capabilities of drivers against velocity and position sensing. Departing from this simple assumption, two independent time delays, one for velocity and the other for position sensing delay of the drivers are taken. The main focus in this work is to analyze the interactions between the delays, and their effects on the stability behavior of various models describing traffic dynamics. Weak and strong delay interactions will be considered and analyzed. Physical interpretations will complete the presentation.
