Abstract

Designing H-infinity-optimal controllers for systems with multiple time-delays has been a challenge. A method, which involves defining and solving a series of single-delay problems, has been recently proposed by Meinsma and Mirkin to solve this problem. This paper summarizes how the method of Meinsma and Mirkin can be used to solve the flow control problem in data-communication networks, where multiple uncertain time-varying time-delays in different channels exist. Some simulation results are also presented to compare the response of controllers obtained by this method and a previously proposed method which involves defining separate H-infinity control problems for each channel.
