Abstract

The dynamics hybrid systems, with mode dynamics of different dimensions is analyzed under various switching conditions (pseudo continuity and energy limited transitions). In particular, we focus on the optimal timing (switching) control for such multi-mode multi-dimensional (MMMD) systems. Necessary conditions for a stationary solution are derived and shown to extend the known results for the equal dimension case. This problem is of interest in the approximate and reduced order modelling for nonlinear systems.
